Give What You Never Had

There is a popular school of thought which implies that it is impossible for you to give what you never had. So based on this premise of you never received mentoring in whatever field you're in, you will not be able to provide the same to someone else. Similarly, if we take this into your personal life, if you did not have a father figure in your life you will not be able to be one. While some may agree with this school of thought, there are more than enough examples, in both the business and non-business worlds, which prove the contrary.

Part of entrepreneurship is filling a space that is lacking. Creating a solution to a problem where one (said solution) never existed. Rather than use what you never had as an excuse for why you cannot do or give something, use it as additional motivation for why you must. While you may not have what you need to accomplish your feat at the beginning of your journey, your sheer determination will draw those things both to you and, most importantly, out of you.

So take heart and know that what you lack now does not define what you can have, give, or where you can/will go or end up in life. After all, some of the best financial advisors are those who never had money growing up, and some of the best parents are those who never had positive or any parental figures in their lives. In fact, your ability to identify what is lacking is your strongest asset for bringing forth a solution and giving better than you received.
